Experienced Captain

Gary has fished the waters around Sturgeon Bay his entire life. From when he was old enough to pick up a fishing rod he was catching fish all around both the Bay and Lake. Since 1987 Gary has guided for Bass, Walleye, Northern Pike, Perch, Musky, and other "warm water" species. He especially likes the fighting action of the Smallmouth Bass and catching some of Door County's trophy Walleyes.

Meet Your Guide

Hi, my name is Gary Nault and I started Gary's Guide Service in 1987. My Dad started me and my brother off fishing at 4 and 5 years old. It really helps when you live in an area with such great fishing. The rest is a history of over 20 years. I do all of my guiding in Door County Wisconsin, which is a great place to be as a guide. You can see me at the AYA Green Bay Tournament as tournament director. I also fish several local tournaments. We mainly fish for Smallmouth Bass, Walleye, Perch and Northern Pike with certain times being better for certain species. Give me a call and I can tailor a trip to meet your needs.

I can take up to 3 people comfortably in my 21' Lund 2175 Pro V boat powered by a Mercury 350 Pro XS. In some cases 4 depending on the size of the group (children, etc).I also take larger groups out aboard my 24' Harris pontoon boat.

Yes. Depending on the fishing conditions I may opt to use live bait. There is no additional charge for live bait. Live bait can improve the odds of catching fish. This is one of the main reasons live bait is not allowed in most bass fishing tournaments.

I don't list any pricing on my website. Since my guide service is completely customized to each individuals wants/needs, I prefer to work together with you to make your trip a memorable one at a fair price. Just give me a call and we can talk about numbers.

I have always been very active in helping others understand fishing techniques. I am also involved with Sturgeon Bay's Captains and Guides Association, and am the Chairman of Sturgeon Bay's Harbor Commission. Along with that I have a fishing report that airs on 5 radio stations daily.
